Leonardo Da Vinci

The Leonardo da Vinci Programme

The Leonardo da Vinci programme plays an important role in preparing European citizens for entering the labour market, thereby reducing the unemployment. Taking companies' needs into consideration, the program helps build a European skilled workforce for an increasingly competitive world.

Having this mission in mind, this program aims at helping European citizens improve their skills throughout their lives. Within this framework, it promotes mobility, innovation, and quality of training through transnational partnership - cooperation between various players in vocational training, such as training bodies, vocational schools, universities, businesses, and chambers of commerce.
Leonardo da Vinci provides funding for six types of project, or "Measures":

- Mobility
- Pilot projects
- Transnational Networks
- Language Competencies
- Reference Materials
- Joint Actions

Pilot projects

Pilot projects are the vehicle for improving quality and for promoting innovation in vocational training. Both aims should be integrated in the proposal in such a way that tools, methods or concepts, and also concrete materials, which are developed during a pilot Leonardo project can be used in, or adapted for, changing environments.
